Red Alert 2 installing problem's. [message #278237]

Everytime I try to install Red Alert 2 from the cd, it load's but when it's about to fire up the setup.exe it error's out and say's "Windows has encounted an error and must close".

So, I can't install it, I had a problem like this before, fixed it by re-installing Windows XP, don't wanna go there again.

Am thinking, do you think if someone gave me their version of setup.exe that would work?

Am also thinking of downloading Red Alert 2 from an torrent, maybe that work, I can use my serial to register it. Smile

It's been a while since I reinstalled (I use XP on my main machine), but I think what I did was go to My Computer, right-click -> Explore on the RA2 CD, right-click -> Properties on setup.exe, set Compatability to Windows 98 mode, and then double-clicked on setup.exe. Hopefully, that's how I made it work. Good luck.
