MessageBox.Show("Thank God.")

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Hahahaha, Getting aggressive over some simple Visual Basics code? hahaha, Oh man, Your funny, You are funny, Want a cookie for telling a newbie programmer to fuck off?

Oh.. I won't fuck off, Infact I'll keep it up and watch you get pissed off over more simple code, And I'll keep laughing.

Joe: It's some code for Visual Basics 05, But it's nice to see you got a book about C++... I wish you luck as C++ is a pretty hard language to learn, But it's advanced. Smile

I wouldn't recommend anyone to learn Visual Basic, as it really sucks.
The advantage of learning C++ is that you are programming close with the memory and it's easier to understand other languages (Visual Basic is the big exception) if you already know C++.

When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"

Pascal + delphi is also entirely unlike C. But yeah C++/C is the best, and make sure you stay miles away from .NET and the std framework.

Fantastic!

I also bought that book, but I regretted it.
A really good book for beginners that I found really useful and still do, is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0321246950/lynnallain
You can get it really cheap too.

And remember, .NET is your friend.

Most of New Zealand beer (DB, Export, Tui) is brewed round the corner from where I work. ^_^ Coincidentally, there is a Tui pub next door to work as well.

Sorry for derailing the topic, it was far too easy.

Visual Basic doesn't suck. :/ It's a good starter language for beginning programmers. It lets them get the feel for 'real programming' later on when they decide to make a Managed GUI.

It does suck. If C/C++ is too hard for you, you shouldn't be programming at all. Also, managed code fails just as much as VB.

The best way to go is to just download and look at some C++ code until you can understand what it is doing. And don't be afraid to ask questions.

Don't worry about him asking questions. He's not scared of it.

Yes

C++ can do everything too that other languages can.
ANSI C++ is platform independent and close to hardware.
Only in assembler (low level language) you can do even more.
