Ok, I got A motherboard, which has AGP, im having a crappy ati Radeon 9250+ atm which just can play Counter Strike Source on High Details without AA or AF, and a fps of 20-25 max in ren ( 1280 X 1024 lcd screen ) Anyway, im planning to buy this card:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8040782&st=x1950+agp&type= product&id=1157068455153
Seems to be one of the best AGP cards, we also got the Nvidia 7800 GS, but according to some reviews i read, x1950Pro tend to have slightly more performce, ok, to the point, i got everything what the card needs BUT i dont know what power Supply i got I bought this 'desktop' but i have no idea what Power Supply i got its a MSI pc, anyone know how i can find what power supply i got? Thanks for reading

What processor do you have? You say it's an AGP board, and most processors of that age will bottleneck the likes of a card like the X1950 Pro and 7800GS. If you're processor isn't too great, it might be better to get something like a 7600GT. Just a little FYI.CarrierII | For the card you linked to, you need a power supply rated at at least 450 Watts. Anything higher is also fine. Anything lower is not.
| Wattage isn't the most important thing. Amperage on the +12V rail(s) is.
Sir Kane is right too. Quality over quantity. Don't get a PSU just becuase it has high wattage. There are ALOT of shitty quality PSUs that are rated high just to take advantage of that consumer misconcepton. Brands like Enermax, Sparkle, Thermaltake, and Antec (I know I'm missing a few) are good. All of those 500+watt PSUs for less than $40 are to be avoided.
If you end up needing a new PSU, give your budget and someone can give you some choices.

Okay, You probably won't see every last ounce of the full potential, but that should be good enough. It's plenty for Renegade either way, so you're good to go there.
Now you need to find out what PSU you have now. You should be able to remove the side cover and there should be a label on the PSU. The maximum total output and the value for the +12V are the two things you want to note.

The 1950 is the fastest AGP card only downside is that it doesn't support dx10 so in 2 or 3 years games based on dx will look poor.
And as most already said, look for a good quality Power supply.
( Enermax, Seasonix, OCZ, Coolermaster)
A good powersupply will cost between 50 and 80 euro..

Had Vacation job, but i did some Searching
i have a fortron PSU with 350 Wattage, som seller today told me they had some PSU's, Huntkey and X Gear, are those nice brands? i was thinking of getting an corsair or fortron, with 450 wattage or above, price can be 120-180 Euro ( srry, i live in Europa ) Besides this im getting 2 DDR 400 mhz Sticks of 1024 MB ram ( its possible on my motherboard--> yay for Dual ) and prolly an SApphire Radeon X1950 pro, but are the other good brans for the x1950 pro? i heard 3D club isnt that good, MSI could be ok, or pure Ati, but i heard Sapphire was the most common and good working one.
Edit: didnt watched the 12V+ rail line but i got the model number somewhere

I smell 2 tons of bullshit.
More than enough.
I can't wait 'till your card dies, Viking, Then I can laugh and you can't brag anymore.

Ok, i had some funny problem today. My Motherboard has 2 Memory Slots, the 1 im using is an 400Mhz 512 Mb stick DDR. Today i bought 2 400 Mhz 1024 MB Sticks ( 2 sticks of 1024 MB ram DDR 400 mhz ) but at each start, my LCD screen would say: 'No signal' i removed 1, same problem, then replaced the 1 with the other, again, same problem. So i placed my old 1 back in --> And my LCD screens works again. So i will return those sticks, but what shall i do? --> Go for two 1024 MB sticks 333 Mhz, 1 ( adding ) 512 MB 400 Mhz or 1 with 512 MB 333 MHZ?.

Make sure the RAM is low density. Alot of cheaper vendors sell high density RAM and most desktops can't use that.
As for the ATi vs nVidia thing, my preference is nVidia, but ATi has the best on AGP. That's the fact of the matter. The X1950 Pro is quite faster than the 7800GS and it has much better image quality too than the GeForce 7 series did.
About your CPU, a 2.93GHz Pentium 4 will bottleneck a Radeon X1950 Pro. Just be aware that you're spending partly towards what you'll never see, ala waste. A 7600GT, 6800GT/GS/Ultra (avoid the XT and LE unless you have to), or maybe even the X1650 XT (again, avoid the other versions if you can becuase anything but the XT version is a crippled version with a 128-bit memory bus) will match better with your older CPU. You don't want to go a waste tons of cash on a PSU and expensive card only to have your CPU bottleneck and waste some of it. It's your decision though. I'm just giving you a heads up that you won't see it's full potential.
Make sure you get the +12V rating on the PSU too. The minimum should be 18A, ideally 20A or above. That's more important these days than total wattage. The truth is, even 300-350 watts would be enough for MOST PCs, as long as it's a good brand/quality and has a beefy +12V rail(s). I've never heard of Huntkey or X Gear. Corsair makes decent RAM, but I don't know about PSUs, becuase I didn't know they made them. Fortron makes decent PSUs. If you have 120-180 to spend though, I'm not sure what that is in dollars, but 120-180 dollars could get a really high end PSU to give you an idea.
