Part of me believes that the Final Destination movies were supposed to be comedies and not "Horror" movies. The fact that Sean Scott is in the first one gives the producer's intentions away.

On a serious note though, the stupidity of the plot (or lack of a plot) is enough to make you chuckle when one of the characters dies. Take the first movie for example, the way the teacher dies: She pours ice cold liquor into a glass which previously had scorching hot liquid in it, which causes it to shatter. Little drops of whatever she's drinking drop into the monitor of her computer making it blow up, slicing her throat. My memory is shady, but i'm pretty sure the pain makes her drop to the floor and when she reaches for a towel on top of the table, a knife falls on her stabbing her in the chest. Then the main character comes in to try to save her but he accidentally knocks a chair on her pulling the knife deeper into her, then the fire from the computer blowing up plus a gas leak cause the house to blow to pieces.

SERIOUSLY. That shit isn't scary, its pathetic. The odds of people dying the way they do in the Final Destination movies is so slim that it makes them funny in a stupid (not sick) kind of way.

"Horror" movies become more pointless by the second. That movie Hostel... was there even a point to that? Personally, I don't mind gore in movies as i'm not easily grossed out. "Horror" movies now a days don't need to tone down on the gore, they only need to tone up on the imagination, IMHO.
