You should just leave your bandwith to "LAN/T1" in my information.
Try typing "nur 30" in F8 while in-game. This could be a reason it seems to lag.
Also is your fps / sfps stable? A high, unstable fps/sfps is worse than a low, stable fps/sfps.

Go into 'my information' and set your bandwith to LAN/T1. This is the same as setting 'sbbo 2000000', meaning you will get up to 2 Mbit of information by the server. Setting it to 56000 would mean you limit yourself to 56k which would obviously cause lag.
Standard settings get Renegade to auto detect your bandwith, however this feature doesn't work correctly and often detects you as 56k when you're really on a much better connection.
Considering the kbps you were getting, I suspect this is configured correctly, though  .
