Annoying problem in Renegade. :S [message #265741]

Recruit

Alright. When I load Renegade the whole screen comes up black I hear sound but no screen of anything. My other disk was pretty messed up. Today I went out to get some new disks, and still doesn't work. Can anyone here please help me out? Thanks.

Did you use scripts and did not remove it correctly?
Remove, if present, the d3d8.dll from your Renegade directory.

If you installed 3.x scripts and THEN core patch 2 then just reinstall the 3.x scripts and the problem should be fixed. Core patch 2 overwrites the 3.x script files but leaves the d3d8.dll and shaders.dll files.
