It popped up on my computer and told me to update it, so I figured it was some sort of driver or something, so I did and it installed this toolbar in internet explorer?
Is it bad or good or what?

Here's yet another clear example of a question that can be easily answered if you utilize Google and Wikipedia.
Viewpoint is a media player that's commonly installed with AIM. It's harmless.
