First of all yes I did put 'Cult' in the topic title purely because it can only be best described as a cult and NOT a religion. I just saw a BBC report on Scientology and was completely disgusted by how they reacted all of the way through the documentary. The reporter in question was followed endlessly for days and was also question very rudely by a Scientologist high up in their order. In my opinion he was doing a completely fair documentary (however having heard of them before I did already have my set opinions on this) and thought it was going well. In this report it showed that a common way for them to recruit is to offer a 'stress test' where they see if they have the crazy alien thing within them (this may not be precise but I don't think it is too far off). I think this is falsely leading people into Scientology if they like it or not. They were also recruiting people in the recent Virginia Tech tragedy. With all of this in mind I feel that the entire organization is a sham and the fact that the creator of this religion was apparently a schizophrenic and effectively a fiction author can't be too great either. Last of all they showed footage of people in the Holocaust and blamed this on Psychologists. They were effectively brainwashing people with their own version of events and using the holocaust as an excuse. I can only describe them as sick bastards for doing this.

If anyone can find it anywhere it is BBC program called Panorama and it really is worth a watch. All I have here is a youtube link where the reporter looses it (in my opinion he kept his composure very well as I would have punched the irritating bastard).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA5VsSF6FZA (the syncing is out but you should get the point)

Sorry if this thread doesn't read well at all I wrote it when I was rather angry but hopefully you would have gotten the gist of it.

Discuss.

Scientology would have more credibility as a religion if it wasn't developed with a Science Fiction theme from a Science Fiction author.

Explains my thoughts on this subject.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

I just thought I would mention that there are now certain torrents with this in. Judging by the size of them they are low quality but should still be a good watch. Since it appeared on TV and you can record from that I presume the torrent is legal however I will not post it here as they are a slightly touchy subject. If anyone wants to be the torrent spy I am sure they will find it Razz.

Oh My Gawd, I seen this topic on another forum, With the Panorama link, Here it is: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-126281853779690652

If I said I think the Christian religion is total bs, I'd just get a frown and it would be left at that.

As for Scientology... They just immaturely dig up your past, And make a fool out of you.

I hope some people smarten up and realize it's a joke.

just out of curiousity, since i heard it elsewhere but was never given resources to back it up.. the fiction auther that started all this, didn't he say "if you want to make alot of money, start a religion." ? (paraphrased, i dont know the quote itself)

If someone knows if he said something similiar to that, thatd be great. other then that I agree, its mostly a joke, I tend to ignore it although it's hit my attention quite a bit. even to the point of trying to shut down a anti-suicide teen youth group because it used 'psychology' which they dont believe is a science (I cant think of any resources on that one either. I'm too tired to dig it up now, I will if it is important to prove any of this, just consider it false until proven)

Does not accept 1v1, peroid. I am a teamplayer, and can't play solo. Yes, I know I suck. Deal with it.

scientologists believe we came from aliens... but if we came from them, who did they come from, and who did who they came from come from, etc. there is no answer end of. Also there was a program on tv about a guy who left scientology and apparently they hacked all his credit cards and framed him for pedeophillia so not a nice bunch.

No, They believed our "Soul" came from alien spores roaming around the earth after there body's being burned.

They believed This is why we feel emotions like love and fear.

They also don't believe this anymore because retards know that it's too stupid to believe, They just aim to steal your money now.

We also can't call them a cult because they will make our lives a living hell, They like to be thought as a "Church".
