Recruit

New to forums signed up today, Have never played Renegade online ever at all. I need help I get the following error:

Westwood Online Error
Your installed version of Westwood Online is incompatible with this product. Please reinstall the westwood online component.

Now it's probably something minor but I guess I've tried what it said and no luck. Someone help as I said before it's probably something minor, But please. PM!

You prolly installed an older C&C and have overwritten westwood online components with the older version that comes with, e.g. Red Alert 2.

Go to your Renegade setup program (setup.exe on the disc) and start the installer again but only install westwood online components Smile

Do you have any other games from C&C? They are likley to have a westwood onlin component aswell. Renegade is trying to use a older version of the westwood online component. What you can try is manualy reinstall the wol component from the CD.. if that doesn't work try to delete the westwood online component (WOLAPI) then reinstall Renenegade, and select the westwood online component

Be sure to reinstall your renegade westwood online files, then when your done, use the xwis forwarding tool on xwis's website on your game and it will forward all your old cnc games (such as renegade, tib sun, red aler) those old ones to xwis meaning thats the REAL way to go if your going to play renegade, some people use gamespy, but that just means you only see like 20-30 servers while with xwis you can see like 100 servers.
