Is it possible to have the RG client detect a name change between when you load Renguard, and when you log on to XWIS?
If you get this (For example)

Welcome to Renguard Medic1990

(That's my pesky brother who was the last guy to use Renegade...)

I then select and use my nick at the login screen, and sign onto XWIS as CarrierII.

On the current version, I have to restart Renegade to get my name verified by Renguard, which is annoying.

Couldn't you just authorise the second nick because the data folder is identical (So is the IP, and the HDD serial etc, it's the same PC) so I don't have to restart Renegade?

That was probably unclear. :s

It's previewed for RG 1.04 and a faster way to do it is to search the registry for the old name and change it to the new one before loading RG again.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

I might be a confident PC user and know what I'm doing in the registry, but a lot of people aren't.

Better question: Why doesn't RG periodically check the registry to see if the name in the registry key has changed? IIRC as soon as you login with a new name the key changes, so if RG checks back every minute or so it will be able to detect changes in nickname... (might not be instantaneous, but better than nothing...)
