alright i can install renegade but for some reason i cant play online. it says checking for bandwith, and then recieving servers or whatever and it pretty much freezes everytime and i have to reset my comp. im so confused cuz i have cable internet, and i can play everyother game online, new games like battlefield 2142, and even really old games like starcraft. thers nothing wrong with my disk, and my comp meets all the requirements. i also added renegade to my internet security allow list incase that was the problem. if anyone can help tell me the problem or how i can fix it please do, i want to play online so badly
incase this can help heres some specs my comp has and the specs renegade needs.
renegade requirements : Pentium II 400 MHz, 96 MB RAM, Windows 95/98/ME/NT5/2000, DirectX 8.1, 16 MB DirectX-compatible video card, DirectX-compatible sound card, 200 MB hard-disk space and 4x CD-ROM drive
my computer : windows xp professional(5.1,Build 2600), AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow, 2.4GHz, 958 MB RAM, 1870 MB available, DirectX 9.0c
please help me some one !!!

Seems like a firewall problem to me. Did you check if windows firewall is on? If so, try putting it off.
Seems like the traffic to connect is getting blocked. This often creates a 'crash like'-situation. You should launch the game in windowed mode (run wwconfig.exe and select windowed mode) so u can force it to close when it 'crashes'. This will also allow you to see possible firewall block messages.

That's what I thought, but then I read through again and read this:
