Honestly, i came here after I had exhausted all my other options. I tried several translators, but they will not load for me.

Get babylon translator or something like that. It is shareware and whatnot but it's pretty good (although it fuckes the context sometimes).

Yahoo! search for translators or free web based translators.

The link I posted was a link to an online translator. Here is what the translator came up with:

Quote:

“Uses the time, it goes so fast of hinnen,
but order teaches you win time.
My expensive friend, I advice you drum
first Collegium Logicum. “

I doubt its accurate, but its better than nothing.

its an (extended) excerpt by von Goethe because i just know of "Gebraucht der Zeit, sie geht so schnell von hinnen,
doch Ordnung lehrt Euch Zeit gewinnen!"

roughly its like that:

Gebraucht die Zeit, sie geht so schnell von hinnen,
use the time, it(time) passes so fast

Doch Ordnung lehrt Euch Zeit gewinnen.
but order/arrangement teaches you to gain time

Mein teurer Freund, ich rat Euch drum
my dearest friend, thats why i suggest you

Zuerst Collegium Logicum.
first: collegium logicum

im not sure about collegium logicum but i think its the "fundamentals/basics of philosophy"

so the poem is mainly telling you to use your time wisely because time passes so fast and if you bring order to your life youll gain some time (because everything will go faster with some kind of plan). and thats why "he" is suggesting you (my dearest friend) to learn the basics of philosophy first.

makes no sense to me but then again im no philosopher Wink
