Who else thinks that this is incredible bullshit? What happened should never have happened. It's situations like this that make me incredibly disgusted with America. How can we be such intolerant assholes?
No, I'm not talking about what he said. I'm talking about his firing.
It's funny how conservatives or even moderates receive such a backlash from the left. If something's even a little bit offensive, they're slammed for it very harshly. The liberals, though, they seem to be able to get away with just about anything!
I don't see how what Don Imus said warranted his firing. So he said something that shouldn't have been said. That doesn't mean that he CAN'T say it. He has every fucking right to. I have every right to say what I please. As long as it's not a threat, I have every fucking right to say as I please.
Nobody has the right to not be offended. Sorry, but that's just not how the world works. You're living in a fairy tale world if you think that you can achieve not offending anybody. Sure, I guess it's achievable. You just have to make sure that nobody utters a damn word and stays locked up in their rooms in complete solitude.
Everybody offends someone by what they say and do. You just can't escape it. If I wear my hat backwards, I offend my dad. If I say that Communism is an impractical economic system, I'm bound to offend someone who lives by it. The only way you can let people live their lives and not be offended is to not let yourself be so wound up in petty little things. We have differing opinions, and we live our lives differently. Get over yourselves.
Oh, and to all of those leftists who think that Political Correctness is just a fabrication of the right to use as a tool against the left... this is a perfect example of PC in practice. People being fired/removed for saying something that some people don't like. Guess what? It's their opinion. Let them have it, just as you have yours. Though, that's too much to fucking ask of you idiots, isn't it?
whoa.

OMG! I was going to start an exactly same topic about Don Imus like this but since I am an immigrant, I decided to stand down and let Americans talk first.
I completely agree j_ball.
This is the most unjust thing that I have ever seen in America in my 7 1/2 years of living here.
This is nothing but willful and deliberate oppression by the Left wingers. This has nothing to do with doing justice against racism/sexism but just proves that the people with power only abuse it to further their selfish agenda.
In this situation, I see the Black leaders involved as opportunists who, having gained power, now seek to further their agenda of oppression against Whites as revenge. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the most corrupt mongrels...they say shit about every other ethnicity but they don't take the shit.
Under the disguise of the so-called fight against racism, they are actually doing the devil's dirty work.

Look @ violent crime STATISTICS (facts)...
Poll people on their "racial experiences"...
...
......step outside your house......
...
And you'll notice that there is a growing problem and disgusting trend amongst some of the minorities in the United States and even around the world. But I blame 'white people' just as much for not opening their fucking mouths and saying what needs to be said.
The fact that he's suing is an excellent move. It not only shows his resolve on the matter, but also in a general way.
I guarantee if it was a black man calling a black woman a "Nappy headed ho" it wouldn't have been an issue.
