So I have made the move to BR 1.5 and I don't want to lose the data that has been stored up in the previous brenbot.dat

Is there a way to bring the data from the old database into the new one without reuning the structure of the new database, or are they same?

I have a good hand on the SQLite Database Browser because I use SQL at work, though this situation is something I don't quite understand.

I trialed a test where I open the old database, then exported the old database to an .sql file, closed that old database, opened the new database, then imported the .sql file into the new database. I checked afterwards and any old records were not maintained. Also a few tables were no longer there, such as globals.

AFAIK, Previous versions of BrenBot had questionable SQL databases and the design was completely revamped for 1.50, meaning you'd have to manually copy the data in, if you can at all.

Actually you just put your .dat file into the brenbot folder and it will be updated automatically for you to the layout for 1.50. But any new stuff added since you updated would be lost...

I will give that a go DP and see if it works. Sounds like it makes sense and would be really nice.

Well I have great news, just as DP said it would be updated and BR did just that.

It took my database for a ride through changes that introduced in each new build until it updated to 1.5 levels.

This is definatly comforting to know that you can bring in your previous data so easily.

Thanks! Big Grin
