Win32/Luder.V

Virus or spyware?

Z.A. cannot fix it, trying AVG, any ideas?

Things labeled Win32 are viruses. Zone Alarm can't get rid of it because it's firewall software, not antivirus. I suggest NOD32.

NOD32 ftw. Thumbs Up

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Thanks guys, the PC is now virus free. Big Ups Big Ups Big Ups

I was instructed to disconnect from the Net, disable "system restore" then do a new scan. Apparently the worm/virus has found a way to hide in any previous "system restores", by disabling restore, the PC removes ALL restore points and the virus has nothing to attach to.

ZA, AVG, Spybot, Adaware and Spysubtract have all deemed the PC infection free.

This has been done in layman terms, I hope it helps others, just as you have have both helped me.

Indeed it does.

However this virus is a particularly nasty wee beastie. ZA picked it up but could not heal it, even with the antivirus? because it attaches itself to a previous restore.

The advice I was given worked. Delete all system restores, re-run, ZA, (and all other utilities that you have).

Virus/worm is gone, hopefully for good. Big Ups
