please, dont just say upgrade to broadband! cause i cant. but i have a toshiba satellite laptop that i just bought that is 2.4 ghz with geforce 4 mx 420 and 512 ddr ram and 56k v9.2 modem or w/e lol. but the thing is i cant play renegade on it cause i get gameplay pending then i get kicked atleast once every 5 minutes! does anyone know how to change some settings on my modem or anything at all that might be able to let me play renegade? i can play on my old 800 mhz hp that is really gay online with out getting disconnected. i dont know what is up and it makes me mad! urgh!

WHY DID U BUY A LAPTOP??????

why didnt you just buy a top of the range desktop?
you probally could have for the price of a good laptop.

BTW: im on 56k and i barley ever get kicked off.
and i always get on strait away as well.

Have you looked into the settings of your dialup connection?

Sometimes your dialup connection can be set to auto-disconnect after a period of inactivity, this may be default with laptops or something, i don't know.

I've been using a 56k modem from this computer for over a year with Renegade, and never had a random disconnect.

back in the day when i had dial up Wink
i got disconnected alot..i noticed if you left the compression thing unticked it will disconenct quiet often..check.that..and dont ask where..its been so long since i checked my modem setttings...and i cant now as i threw it away Razz

Hijack a broadband connection or get one of those T-Mobile hotspot things and play Renegade in Starbucks! LOL.

I have broadband and find in certain servers I get disconnected after a few minutes in play. Not sure why that is but I know it sucks.

We have two ears but only one mouth. So that we can listen more and talk less.
