right.. plus even switch is more a marketing word. a switch is in fact a network bridge: wiki:network_bridge
very interesting wiki-page. the OSI stuff also gets explained a little bit there

Switch = multi-port bridge...However, plain switches should be available from most computer/networking dealers...
