Hey guys,
today I was talking to an old buddy of mine who told me quite a bizzare story:
-This buddy (who im not gonna name) told me that BHS was told about certain memory leaks in Rengaurd about 3 years ago.
-Appearently that 0x90 guy, found this exploit and that exactly how his little app (im not gonna put the name) works.
-This is the most bizzare, he/she also told me that BHS ignorned the first couple of times people brought this up, sort of shrugging it off, not worrying too much about it. So they decided to do nothing about it.

You know because of people like who think its "c0ol" to cheat on online video games, then like come to the point of taughing us, Crimson and other people have been really quite about various projects like rg1.04 aka rg2, for example because of "spies" and im sure thats the right thing to do, but because of YOU we are left hanging.

First you should know what a memory leak even is. It's a memory space that has been forgotten by the programm. It usually happens when you allocate new memory on the heap, and then delete the pointer to the memory without freeing the memory to which the pointer pointed too. You can't exploit anything there, because this memory gets never used again by the programm. And the memory will stay unused until the programm itself dies.
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"

I'm not flaming you. When I flame you, you'll know. I was simply asking why someone who intends to do so much harm to the computer game this forum is for, is allowed to get away with it without penalty. As for me being 'annoying', I find it annoying that you make and distribute cheats for Renegade, which leads to the sorry state the game is in now. So how about a deal? My comment annoys you, your continuing efforts to destroy this computer game annoys me. So I'll leave you alone if you immediately and permanently cease trying to fuck this game up. Deal?

I think he confused my memory hacks/editing and RG 1.03 ain't stopping that, that's correct, and some cheats exploit this. And that's why we're waiting for 1.04.
Seems to me 0x90 ain't banned because he didn't break rules. And the xwis serial banning has been tried. You know yourself how expensive Renegade is.

You have got to be kidding me.
When Crimson wrongly accused me of ddosing Renguard in an attempt to defame my character out of anger, people were banned for saying things like "but spoony didn't do that".
On that basis, keeping 0x90 unbanned is laughable.

So do what I do at CW. If someone's banned and they sneak back in, ban them again. Repeat as long as it takes for them to get the message. It works for us... it really just depends whether you have the persistence and the will, I suppose.

Thousands. Perhaps not ten thousand, but thousands nonetheless.
As for there being no way to track back to him, I accomplish this pretty well at CW without any access to serials whatsoever...

What's laughable is the admins don't take any official stance of opposition. I know it probably wouldn't stop him trying to destroy this game, but it'd send a clear message that you don't plan on tolerating it, wouldn't it?

It's a common misinterpretation that 0x90 spent a lot of time in doing what he did. For him it was quite easy. Still prolly 'a lot of time' for some of us but quite a little amount of time compared to what people like cyberprick put into Renegade cheating and compared to what you (Spoony) and me put into Renegade.
