Anyone here think that it would have looked a bit more legitimate if he hadn't been yelled at and then killed by people who looked just like terrorists?
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Darkknight wrote on Sat, 06 January 2007 01:29 | Your killing this one old guy was it really worth it?
|
No.
Stopping genocide was worth it, but killing for the sake of 'revenge' isn't worth it at all. It doesn't take an entire army to kill one man anyway.
|
sadam killed and tortured thousands of his own people and thats only what we know of. So yeah killing this one old guy was worth it for what he did.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=39045
"we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management, U.S. management'' – has had ice-cold water dumped on it by a horrific new video.
“he 4-plus-minute video clip, reportedly obtained from the Pentagon, captures the routine beating, torture, dismemberment and decapitation that occurred daily at the hands of Saddam's henchmen.”
"savage scenes of decapitation, fingers chopped off one by one, tongues hacked out with a razor blade – all while victims shriek in pain and the thugs chant Saddam's praises."
Yeah sounds like revenge don’t it. Unjustified hanging? Real shame to let this old guy die, should have kept him around for more fun times.
|
I do believe xptek means it wasn't worth killing him because of all the drama and revenge associated with his martyrdom. And there could have been alternative reasons to keep him alive.
And fl00d3d you need to cool your jets. You don't need use almost every post you make to bring up your military career. On that note you should probably stop bringing up useless facts about the military as well: "all of those people swore and oath and knew ahead of time they could die in the line of duty" etc.
|
Xptek only wants to flame flood. is the only reason he even posts on these forums.
And its worth Sadam for what he did and what he would have continued to do if not stopped.

You have NO life experience whatsoever. If you want to give your opinion on things I'm 100% OK with that as anyone of any age has that right. But the way you present your opinions are as fact and you flame me for mine when I have justification for my beliefs as I have the life experiences you do not.

It's amusing that you complain about flaming while flaming.

Yeah, and that sure makes every invasion okay. I'm not sure if you have other friends/family in the military, but for most of them it's definitely not worth it. Not everyone is okay with mindlessly fighting an immoral war.

How does this make the war worth it? You need to collect your thoughts a little more, because you seem to be rambling quite a bit.
|
why is your every post targeting flood. you hardly ever respond to anyone elses. you inlove with the guy?
|
It's because fl00d3d makes it a habit of forming an opinion, but has some ridiculous reasoning for it. His views align with mine a lot of the time, but his support of his views are skewed by a lot of things, and as xptek mentioned, he ties his military experience into everything as if it's an excuse. That and xptek just thinks fl00d3d is an idiot.

Did the War in Iraq not involve an invasion to enter the country due to the fact that there were no troops in Iraq prior to the declaration of war?
Incase you still think it's those evil unpatriotic LIEberals, here are the definitions of invasion: http://www.freesearch.co.uk/dictionary/invasion
this is more common than the self-diagnosis of asperger's in the goon population how is it obsCURE FUCKKK

it was never an invasion. the liberal media called it that.
|
So... sending troops into a country WITHOUT that country's permission isn't invading? What would you call it, then?
Edit: If you don't think that we invaded Iraq, then Germany didn't invade Poland, Belgium, France, Russia, Africa...
whoa.

No, but I don't think it was our place to invade and remove him from power. If the United States really gave a shit about genocide we would've gotten rid of him the first time he killed his own people. Then again, if the United States gave a shit about genocide we'd probably be doing something in Darfur.

if im not mistaken the first time we couldnt do that. also if the UN was really about what they say they are they would have taken care of Sadam long time ago instead of a gazillion resolutions to solve the problem.
whether in right or wrong about the rest im sure the familys and people who were tortured under Sadam would disagree with you. I'm sure their happy he is gone.
