Ok sense my l33t HL2 capibol computer is nearing completion (getting AMD 2.6GHz Dual core)

Should I get Winderz XP or Winderz Vesta!?

1:How much is Vesta going to cost?

2:Is it going to be better then XP?

3:Should I just get XP because Vesta is gonna suck?

WHAT SHOULD I DO!?

learn to spell would be a good start, but get XP or you will have to wait for vista to come out and it will probably be crap for at least 6 months till all the bugs get fixed.

Agreed with Pirate, get XP. Go to my Xfire profile if you want to see my system specs, perfectly capable of running HL2 at maxed graphics with no lag. Big Grin Thumbs Up

You don't need an uber computer to max out Half-Life 2. I can max it out just fine (including 4x AA and 16x AF) and my system only has an Athlon XP 2600+, 1GB ram, and a Geforce 6800.

Vista is for e-penis people. Windows XP runs most things you will need while only managing to totally hog 200 megs of ram. Why upgrade to microsofts newest pig which hordes 500 megs of ram?

I personally would rather have my ram working at loading maps. I don't give a rats ass if I can spin around folders in 360's. If you always run into organization problems and have 20 folders open at once setup up a dual monitor display.

Vista is unnecessary.

I would stick to XP, Alot of my friends have told me Vista is a pain in the ass, Plus I'm not sure if most games would work on Vista. Neutral But they could, Never know.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Yeah, I agree, I would stick with XP until Vista is necessary.

I'd also agree XP would be more suitable, just look for some tweaking programs such as TweakUI and free some of you RAM usage up

xp can run programs under compatibility of earlier versions of windows, and i am guessing vista could do that for xp. still, doing this hogs more ram and processing power. i go for xp

Xp, in my opinion is the best windows version ever..Now, dont say "obviously, the new ones are always better"

Because, ME/2000 was the worst one of them all, i prefered 98 over it simply because of all th e internal bugs it had.....
Half of the programs wouldnt dnlwd, YES i have expeirenced this, even when done the EXACT way, it didnt work...

The Netscape i had on it, and three of my other friends at the time, would not work half of the time....these were when ME first came out....

The bugs were obviously fixed as time went on...but just goes to show you..

Until NTs bugs are out (which, obvioulsy there will be a few)
Im sticking with XP till about 2008 or so..until its proven obsolete and everything requires it then.

I would recommed you stick with XP. If you want the Vista feel without using 500MB for Vista alone then I recommend downloading a Vista XP theme like I have. My average RAM usage was 330MB, with the theme it has gone up 2 350mb so I can't really complain about 20mb compared to 200.

Vista isn't needed and most probaby won't be needed untill 2008 (When the new games use DirectX 10)
