This is not regarding Dance Dance Revolution! That's a joke, so laugh.
I'm looking to get myself some more memory for Christmas (yeah, I know it's a week away... I only just got the monies for it). Problem is that I know next to jack shit about hardware stuff, memory especially.
This is my machine: http://www.powerspec.com/systems/archives/system_archive.phtml?selection=9262
This is my memory info:
http://www.powerspec.com/systems/archives/system_components.phtml?component=769& amp;selection=9262
All I know is that it's DDR400, which is apparently (?) the same thing as PC3200... ?
In any case, I'm looking to upgrade from 1GB (2x512MB) total to either 2GB, 3GB or hopefully 4GB.
I've read things regarding ECC, registered, dual channel, etc... what's the difference? Are they all compatible? Are they not compatible? I'm fairly certain that my current memory is dual channel (on boot-up, the BIOS mentions that the memory is "operating in dual channel mode").
Any recommendations?
