Oblivions 1 hour tutorial on max was 700mb at 600x800 or 1024x768 (not sure which one).

Use that as a reference. Also, if you're going to be putting these on Youtube or somewhere they have a limit of 320x240 screen res at 10 min or 100 mb (whichever comes first).

I know what it is and I know how to use it, but my question remains would I be able to make a 20min clip to 50mb with it?

i can make 2 hour clips for my phone into 100Mb so it is possible

Now compare the screen resolution from a Ipod or a phone to a monitor that most probably running at 800x600/1024x768.
