I am gettin TI-92 cus it looks cool and has a keyboard!

Don't come back here bitching about wasting your money when your math teacher yells at you, or tells you you can't use a TI-92.

You can get plenty of games for the TI-83/84, most of them only requiring 1 finger to play, so it's not blatantly obvious that you are playing games in math class.

How is it cheating if you are smart enough to use a device to do the math for you? I guess the pour people would be fucked lol!

As NukeIt15 said, Math classes assume you will never have a calculator with you in real life, so you have to do all the math by hand. So in class some teachers will require you to not only get the answer, but show the work you did to get it.

Viking

I want it to play games in math so it looks like I am working but I am really having fun!

Sure C&C on your calculator would be great, but when you get called on to answer a problem and you shout out "CRAP! GOTTA KILL THIS TANK!!" you're gonna find yourself up shit creek. Not only that, but when you are using your calculator for 30 minutes straight, it's pretty obvious you're not doing math anymore. As much as you'd like to think teachers are stupid, they really aren't.
If you wanna play C&C, use a computer, not a calculator.

I've had a TI-83 since I was a frosh in HS; it has served me well (even though it hasn't seen any action since junior year and I'm now a college sophomore) and never crapped out in the middle of something important. I guess it's the TI-84 now, but it's a solid design with enough features that- unless you're doing some seriously heavy-duty advanced mathematics- you shouldn't need anything else.

Totally. I have a TI-83 and I'm a senior in HS in AP Calc. I still use it for tons of stuff, and I've had it since I was a freshy. If you learn how to program, it can do tons of good stuff for you. (I've made programs for Geometry, Interest, and Sequences, most of them being bigger than some games I have. I've also made completely useless programs that look like Matrix code.. Big Grin )
TI-83/84 definately better for your (Viking's) level of math.

Also, almost forgot, when going for a TI-83/84 always get the Silver edition... Has more memory and some nifty apps.

If you don't want EA to get any credit, destroy their Refinery. Duh.
