Whenever my PC restarts spontaneously while I'm playing Renegade, (not very often) Windows says that it's a driver that's causing the problem. (I have a GeForce 6200)
Now, working on the assumption that Microsoft Error Reporting is right, which probably isn't the case, it's my graphics driver that causes it.
