Ok I might make a computer but I have no idea what im doing.

Barebon kit that looks good?
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-det ails.asp?EdpNo=2568856&Sku=M452-2660%20A

RAM or memory whatever you call it.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-det ails.asp?EdpNo=2533032&CatId=0

Video Card
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-det ails.asp?EdpNo=2456680&CatId=28

I have...

Hard drive 40GB+15GB SETA brand is I have no idea? They work fine and never make scatchin noises, EVER! I have had it 5 years and never ran out of room then I added the 15GB frome my moms broken comp and reformatted.
CD rom drive and floppy drive
3 Stiks of 512 memory (DDR)
Eithernet card or somthing?

Other computer parts like vid card ect... not worth keeping cus it hardly plays renegade with 30 FPS... Angry

QUESTION TIME!!

1)Is all that stuff compatibol?

2)Is that stuff good or shit?

3)Can I use the hard drive from my current computer?

4)Did I forget anything?

5)Can these thins play HL2 at full details and stuff?

No offense, but if you don't even know what the common terminology for computer parts are, then you have no business building a computer. Especially if you don't even know what you're looking for...

However, if you're truly determined, then I suggest learning about computer first. Google around, read articles, books, and other informational sources.

As an example:

I knew little about the topic, but was fed up with the performance of my PC, I took two books out of the library, google'd and spoke to people over IRC. I learnt alot and have since upgraded, repaired, and am getting another upgrade on this PC.

Do read around first.

Dude, just get all the parts from one vendor, such as Newegg, instead of all these random ones.

Better quality hardware, cheaper prices, better support, better shipping, better deals, and a more trusted vendor.

lol.

where those "tech" support people come from, they don't have the technolagy to know what they are talking about.
you would say "i need a computer..." they would butt in and ask what a computer was :S

I've had a dell "tech" ask me what a hard drive was once... It didn't make any sense either, because I was asking a question related to RAM. Techs, pff.
