You can fix that "Could not load scc_ignore.txt" No such file error by renaming your lower case scc_ignore.txt file to upper case SSC_ignore.txt and that error will go away.
It's looking for that specific naming convention with the SCC in upper case.
I know it has nothing to due with your IRC connection issue but thought I would pass that bit of info on also.

actually ssc_ignore is not bundled with brenbot, so he probably does not HAVE the file. Also the file name is not case sensitive
