I apologize if anyone interprets this as backpedaling or contradicting myself. I think of it more as a clarification. My being overly nice is looked down upon by some people, and I'm sorry if I gave anyone the wrong impression. It takes a lot for me to stop being friends with someone... you pretty much have to outright betray me to make it happen, something that doesn't happen often, but something I take very seriously.
So, I invite you all to think what you like about me and act accordingly. If you think I'm a horrible person, then that's fine. If you think I'm doing my best where I can to help keep this game alive, then that's fine, too. Choose to participate in these forums or anything else I run, or don't. I gave you a few days to attack me, now it's ended. I quite honestly do NOT have to time to look back on years-old logs and emails to remember what exactly happened through the twisted lies that have mutated through the years.
Overall, these forums have given me the greatest gift of all, for it is here that I first started talking to Blazer, and on November 6th, we will have been together for 4 years. And nothing that you do or say here will change the happiest part of my life and the best outcome of my involvement in the Renegade community.
So, I'm not going anywhere. Silent Kane started this month on a project to revive the ladders which they will be hosting on XWIS. The collection part is completed and working very well. Our next step is to store the data in a database instead of flat files. After we restore the basic "ladder points" ranking, we will turn our attention to the clan ladder. Given my background working for the Cisco Networking Academy in their Metrics, Reporting, and Evaluation department and also hosting a weekly poker game with a semi-annual "ladder", I am quite qualified to lead the creation of this aspect, and if anyone wants to consult in this process, I will be inviting that within the next few weeks (it will be after the public ladder rolls out).
I will also be finishing the setup of the BHS-VPC and getting the applicants involved in a revitalization project for Blackhand Studios and all the sites that we run and support. I also have another big announcement to make with regards to BHS and its' talent pool, but the details of that are still being finalized. I'm hoping to make that announcement this coming week.
So, instead of focusing on retarded events from the past, let's look to the future, because that's all we can control. Play politics, or shut up and mod/code/play/whatever. These sorts of battles never win anybody any favor.

Don't get me wrong, Crimson...I apprechiate what you and BHS have done for Renegade, but it seems a lot as if have a few skeletons in your closet through your friendship with Kholdstare. Frankly, I don't really care about who DDoSed who, but isn't it only fair to let Spoony make a case against you when you were (don't know if you still are) accusing him of hacking this site? From what I've read, he did it in a civil way, so suspending him and deleting his threads just looks a lot like a coverup.
Offtopic: I'd rather see a working Renguard than anything else.

I can't control what my friends do or don't do. Especially when those friends don't even tell me what they're doing. He runs or used to run in the same circles as the people attacking me, so I got information and sometimes he even got them to stop. I know damn well that if he gets mad, he'll do anything he can to get back at whoever makes him mad. But Spoony is not one to throw stones when his house is made of glass.
I know you all want RenGuard. I do, too. (Remember, I run a server and still play, too) This ladder project isn't interfering with that (most of the time-consuming but not terribly difficult work is my job and I'm not personally working on RenGuard) -- Silent Kane has only "wasted" a few days getting the server software to collect data and it hasn't interfered with his part of the RenGuard project. My announcement this week will speak to that as well.
Also, I no longer accuse him of the deletion of threads in RenForums. The triumphant and mocking tone of the way he notified me made me think it was him at the time, but now, as I've said before, I know who really did it. But I will not retract my accusation that he was involved with (asked for, performed, or is close friends with the one who performed) a DDoS attack against all of my servers which resulted in a total RenGuard network outage which occurred around that same time. (Something he has not denied or confirmed)

Even if he was (I don't have a clue, just making a point here), what is wrong with being close friends with the person? Aren't you close friends with Khold who's done similar things?
I think some months ago Khold banned roh from playing in your server and you had to go and unban him. He's also abused his powers by !killing them (quite awhile ago, yes, but still), even as such times as to steal vehicles. Tell me what's so different then a person !killing innocent players than someone cheating? They're both doing it to piss people off, I don't know how you can really like someone who does that shit. But I'm not here to tell you who to like or dislike.
I'm still baffled you let silent Kane still be a moderator on n00bstories, though.

It's good that you have made a response to Spoony's posts - don't see the need to delete all the threads or ban him, he raised an issue and requested a response, it seems there was some truth in what he had to say and I think an open clarification of the truth would have looked better.
I respect you both for what you have done for the community, I find it hard to believe Spoony would be involved in any attacks - seems Spoony accussed you of downtalking him and the cw.cc ladder, is there any truth in this?
cw.cc has been the only place for people to play competitively pretty much ever and BHS has done a lot for the community - can't help thinking the community would be better off if the people left that still care would just work together and not bad mouth other peoples efforts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't "being in the middle of a DDoS war" involve attacks from BOTH SIDES? And wouldn't that then mean that olddust, who is your friend and co-owner of non00bs or whatever you're calling yourself these days... is ALSO guilty of sending DDoS attacks? Maybe he didn't realize that hitting everything Blazer and I own would shut down the entire RenGuard network, but it would certainly be something that should have been considered, no?
So, thanks for admitting to the attacks and totally negating your argument about my friendship with Kholdstare. Unlike you, I don't put my friend into a position of power on my servers or anything else I run because I know how his temper can run. And whether I was friends with him or not would NOT change how he behaves, so I fail to see how it's relevant.
Furthermore, EVEN IF Blazer had hacked the old Westwood forums, (and that's a big IF), I have two questions.
1) Why would Westwood give me the forums after they shut down?
2) How would that in any way prove that I or anyone I know impersonated some clan members 4 years ago?
4 years ago! Remember this. Think about how lame it is that someone is diving back 4 years to find some dirt on me, just to promote the website he inherited or whatever. And they call me pathetic.
