Another option is to just download XCC Mixer from xccu.sf.net which can do everything RenegadeEx can and more.

I say bah to the Xcc, that thing just crashes all the time. I would use it if I modded more WW games than renegade, but for me RenegadeEx is the way to go.

I have found XCC mixer to be much more stable than RenegadeEx ever was.

I don't have runtimes 6.0 because I can't install it and me renx works fine

You can hold down shift while starting XCC mixer to bypass freezes on start up (but it shouldn't freeze that often, I think).
