The media shows Lebanon as some kind of desert controlled by terrorists and some Americans buy into it.

This is just one video off of youtube showing the city i used to know and love (although i would say i like tripoli better).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4-jQiCEw3w&search=beirut

I think something like 5% of the suburbs of the city were destroyed by the airstrikes so i am happy it wasn't more than that.

I don't actually live in beirut but in the bekaa valley which is very beautiful to, but luckily lebanon is so small it only took me an hour at most to get to beirut. Most people will find it strange that there are no traffic lights Rocked Over

Anyways, discuss away. I'm just curious to know if this is how the american media portrayed lebanon during the war.

First off, you need a damn road commision becuase it looks like everyone drives like an idiot there.

Also, everything I have seen depicts Northern Lebanon past the Litani river is pretty well developed and seems to be a thriving country other than the live in terrorist group. To the south though looks to be hilly sometimes mountainous and over all more backwoods to the rest of the country with bunkers funded by iran built into the hillsides.
