What would you do if you were President of the United States and had to make this choice?
Scientists have discovered a meteor that is headed towards the earth. They have calculated that it will strike France in 2 days, at approximately 2:30 A.M. The meteor is large enough to completely wipe France from the face of the earth forever.
France and the United Nations have requested that the United States send all available ships and aircraft to help evacuate the country. Among the ships and planes you could be sending are many that are being used to fight the war on terror overseas.
As the President, you must decide: Do you...
A) Stay up late on the night of the impact to watch the coverage live?
B) Tape it and watch it in the morning?

i'm sure they will decide that nothing needs to be done and there is no threat.

you say that but if someone jokes about killing someone else you'd flip out, fire them and/or throw them in jail. at schools in america you can get expelled just for saying "I will beat you down" to one of your friends if the wrong person overhears it. But you're right, it's ok because it's the French.

and that is another thing wrong with america today!
too many people getting offended by stupid things!
mascots throughout the country are being changed because they have an american indian theme. school team names being changed because they are named after some group in history which was renowned for being fierce(vikings, titans etc)
boyscout troops named after famous men being renamed because that famous man fought for the south in the civil war.
a navy jet outside a school in california not being welcome because it is improper
there are many stories like this going on throughout usa and uk which are really making me sick! too many people being offended for every little thing.
when i was a kid, there were "custer's last stand" jokes. people died there too, didn't make the joke less funny.
people in this country need to stop feeding the politically correct trolls and lighten up before we end up with a country of mindless morons too afraid to say or write anything because someone's feelings may get hurt.

You failed to actually read it yourself. :rolleyes: I would have expected someone who was going to try to correct the thread to be correct himself.
It says "The meteor is large enough to completely wipe France from the face of the earth forever." The meteor was just big enough to destroy an area the size of France.
The largest a meteor can be is 330 feet, anything larger then this is considered an Asteroid. So even the largest meteor couldn't wipe out the world. Something this size would create around the area of 100 megatons, and beable to wipe out an area the size of a large city/small state (Most of France would be gone...).
