you mean if you switched "UN" with n00bstories? maybe. but that'd have more to do with the fact of insulting the server. If it just said "fuck fuck fuck fuck." I'm quite sure
1. They wouldn't ban for it.
2. Even if, I'm sure a ban won't be the first measure.
The language rule was probably more leaning towards excessive and racist language more so than saying words like fuck and shit. Point is, n00bstories won't ban for venting frustration with words like "shit", while UN will.

Never once did I mention the "children argument". Good job creating an imaginary argument to prove your point though. I just mentioned that the ratings are based on what is socially acceptable.
T-rated games can have swearing, and often do. However, UN is not a T-rated game, it is a private server.
As for the differences, there are none. All deal with private individuals that make their own rules. There is no "do not swear" sign in the street corner, but there is no "feel free to swear" either. The individual group you are with must make that choice. In n00bstories, the group has decided that you will be kicked for excessive swearing. The UN, for any swearing; the Navy, only if it is done against a person; the Street Corner, only so long as someone walking by isn't offended.

Well the owner clears the bans every few weeks or every month...clan members hold grudges and replace them on those they really don't like as soon as they can type !kb...
Hence the first post in this thread...
Dunno who is really the "Decider"....does make ya wonder why the owner and clan leader undo each others work every month though...people praise Alk for the ban clearings and 2nd chances....never heard the same said for them being replaced ASAP...

No, actually it wouldn't it has a zero-tolerance for racism, but there's no harm in the occasional "fuck", even if it's a string of four in one sentence.
By the way, Fry@IRC failed. The ban was temporary. Consider this post a request for a permenant ban.

If it wasn't aimed at me, then that's ok. I can see your point then.
Private does not mean passworded. Private means that it is run by the general public, and is free to do as it pleases.
The only problem with your latest comparison is that with the later two, you are describing functions that the place is designed to do (for argument's sake, lets assume every place is "designed" to allow you to breathe). A restroom is designed specifially for you to urinate, but no street corner is designed specifically for you to swear. If you want to design a building where people would be encouraged and free to swear as much as they want, whenever they want, go ahead. I'm sure that the government would cause you to put warning signs about it though.

I can see your point about the functions, warranto, but isn't the point of the UN server to play Renegade? Since Counter-Strike's popularity, cussing has become an intergral part of multiplayer games, especially shooters like Renegade. An arguement can be made that it's part of the UN's function to facilitate playing of Renegade, which includes cussing.
Which is why it angers me so much. It's like a restroom that kicks people out for trying to urinate. What the fuck...

Just because one aspect of online gaming has allowed something like that doesn't mean that all online gaming should.
The point of the UN server IS to allow its visitors to play Renegade. However, swearing isn't a part of Renegade. It's just something that gamers have brought along and added to the game. Just like server mods. You're still playing Renegade with or without them.
As for the street corner and bathroom arguments... if we're talking public access, then that's ran by the government. There are rules for using public access bathrooms. You can't conduct illegal activity in it. You still have to abide by laws. Just like street corners, you abide by the governing laws. They're not privately owned. If they were, they have every right to control what you do and how you do it. If you were standing on somebody's property, they'd have every right to kick you off their property if you swore and they strictly forbid it.

No it's not, DarkKnight. They claim it's because they have 8 year olds on TS with them. What they're doing on the TS of a rated T (13+) game is a good question, though.
