Your log only includes you trying to see if he was available, with no mention of trying to ask him about the problems or requests you may have.

Crimson herself is NOT a script kiddie, although others near her could be. If I am wrong, please prove it.

Apgar has recently been cracked by a member of the BHS team.

Its not about Olaf anyways.

-They found Revolt's Apgar source code from Silent_Kane, who got it from somebody else.
-Its a one way hash and cant be reversed.
-The only thing they cracked was woldata.key which is used to scramble/unscramble your serial number.

Okay, I didn't know anything about the apgar findings so thats new on me. v00d00 managed (maybe with help) to crack the woldata.key which has been useful for various people, including myself.

<Crimson> yeah... we've cracked woldata.key and the renrem protocol

Can I prove that she holds out on you guys any more clearly?
Or do you want the logs to prove everything.

Just to clarify, Apgar is a relatively weak and proprietary encryption method from what I've seen. One solution would be to take the Apgar password the client sends when logging onto WOL and store it in an MD5 hash. This doesn't really address the possibility of overzealous administrators sniffing what the clients are sending or modifying the source to log the Apgar password the client sends, but it's a start.

I see Renegade being improved on how it was when it was first developed. The discoveries, even if they were not their own have been amazing. Various mods have been produced, Dragonade/SS(AOW/CTF/Solider Wars).

I think Crimson is doing a good job, even though I disagree with a few decisions that have been made.

Again, you have forgetten that the reason WOL died is because Olaf convinced EA that he could run it. Had Crimson cared, she would have looked beyond her stupid game server and become concerned in the future of WOL. Instead she was just apathetic about the whole thing and decided "Oh well" knowing that she and the PEOPLE WHO ARE KNOWLEGEABLE about WOL would have easily ran WOL better than Olaf.

You sure as hell showed a LOT of caring with your last account.

Besides, aren't you asking a bit much? What you are basically doing is asking Crimson to step up her responsibilities and take charge of WOL. She already has enough on her plate to deal with, so who are you to tell her what she has to do to keep the community alive? I really don't see how you, a former script kiddie who's done NOTHING for the community, has any say in this matter.

<Crimson> so you got WOL source code from xtrm2matt oh boy
<null> .
<null> He has it?
<null> So he wasnt lying then.
<Crimson> havocide offered to sell it to BHS for $999
<null> ...
<null> Havocide is a fuckwit
<null> He thinks Matt has it
<null> I think Matt is full of shit.

I don't have it, and I was most likely joking when I said I'd sell it.

If the Renegade servers are on a different DNS server, then if you could get Olaf to agree, and working Renegade clone of WOL would be nice. Olaf support into the Renegade community is minimal - We found that with his late posting of important messages.

Seeing WSE come back could be interesting.

Has nothing to do with WSE. Read the log and try again.

I thought it said something about the domain ownership of WSE changing hands. The index page on the website shows the plans to release the source code.

The main body of your log was about foiling XWIS and EA. But there was a tiny extract about WSE being started again.

<null> Either you or Olaf get it, Im going to relaunch WSE.
<null> Ed gave me the domain

My paragraph mark was meant to show a difference. The first about how XWIS is doing. The second about a site being reborn.

I would like to see Crimson and BHS pick up support for Renegade by hosting WOL. Relieving Olaf of Renegade can allow him to focus on the other games he supports. BHS know far more about Renegade than Olaf, including the bugs and errors. Surely there could be a way to do it?

To be honest, I do trust that Crimson has dedicated towards the community, but there has been no evidences of it.

The forums have been a little too forgiving with spam, trolling, and flaming. There needs to be more moderation and clean this up. It has no organization and pisses most of the members off when they see the endless amounts of flaming.

Crimson says that she's working on stuff behind the scenes with EA and other advances, and her administration backs her up on that. I can't say that I completely trust this. I can't exactly accuse Crimson of lying, because I have no reason to believe that, but I see no evidences in any advances. Now, I'm not saying that any confidential information with EA should be released. It's confidential for a reason, and if she was to release it, she could very well compromise her attempts to further Renegade and the community.

All I want is to be assured that the community is being pushed forward. Someone's word, to me, isn't good enough regardless of the sincerity and respect of the person in question.

whoa.

I'm assuming your log was posted to show what a bad person Crimson is for condoning your plan to take out Xwis? She was doing it so that Renegade players could get the best gaming experience possible. It reminds me of the teamsters. Sure they operated and to this day sometimes operate outside the law but for the people who count on them, they come through. They defend their workers and take the power out of employers hands to screw over whoever they want.

Also, you established this post on the banner that Crimson should step down because she sat idle and did nothing when EA choose to turn over WOL. Are you mad because the leader of a large community didn't decide to go personally kill Olaf a la Clue (In the ______ with the ______)? Your log shows how many things Crimson was doing and looking into and people she was talking to trying to fix things, but it just obviously didn't work.

What makes her any different than you or I Doitle.

The only reason she has any say in things is because people like you and I support her by posting on these forums.
My point is, the common man should have a say. Seeing that she is the head of the C&C community, whether she'll admit it or not, she disregards our concerns for WOL and does virtually nothing to reiterate our concerns.
