Unfortunately it isn't going to happen, renegade 2 got dropped when EA took over and the original was never as succesful as hoped.

Renegade 2 is never going to be released, because it was a Westwood project that was butchered by EA. If EA really wanted to create a Renegade 2, it would already be released. Renegade itself has been abandoned by EA, leaving XWIS with the responsibility of keeping the servers up.
Besides, if they DID release Renegade 2, what would it be about? Would it be about Tiberian Sun? Oh wait! Reborn is already working on that. What about Red Alert? A Path Beyond is already working on it.
Renegade 2 is never going to be released, because EA is run by a bunch of money-grubbing corporate whores. They saw that Renegade wasn't popular to begin with, so the idea of continuing the RTS-into-FPS strategy was abandoned. End of discussion.
