The game doesn't support voice over ip. You need to use a program like teamspeak2 and connect to the server's teamspeak server.
A limited form of 'talking' to eachother are the radio commands. Check the readme.txt in your ren directory to find out how they work.

Yes, that's called multitasking.

Ok, if yes lets see you run ts on your server. And what I mean by server, is the renegade fds or server side mod, could loadup an extra app, which would run the TS or w/e server, on the fds/ssm, so when you connect to the server, you autoconnect to the ts server aswell.
Comments anyone?
