Sorry if this a repost but reading thru them all would be difficult. To start with.. i am a noob to renegade online. so my problem is new and just started. The thing is that i've installed renguard. i have all the updates also. but .. i can get to renegade and westwood online.. but when i click advanced game listings my comp is fine for a few seconds but then freezes ( i can hear renegade music and see the comp mouse move a little) but i can't do anything. so i have to manually restart. i only have this problem since i've installed renguard. any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. Satisfied

Your firewall is blocking game2.exe because it changed (due to installing Renguard). Be sure game.exe and game2.exe are allowed to access the internet.

Goztow is correct, don't listen to RenGod. If you can't play with Norton Anti-virus then you should get Avast or Anti-Virus Guard. Stop blaming Renguard for every little network issue. Just Press Alt + Tab to minimize the game(you may have to do it a few times before it realizes you are serious). This will most likely expose a windows security dialog box where you can allow Renguard to bypass your firewall. I'm thinking you have to allow both Renegade and Renguard to bypass the firewall, I may be mistaken. If it freezes again just a few seconds after returning to the game, you should Alt + Tab back to desktop again, and repeat the above steps. Also, when you exit the game you may see the cursor moving under Renegade that seems to be frozen, hit Escape 3 or 4 times and it should close Renegade.

And if they paid for Norton? It's bloated, but it's damned good at detecting and cleaning virii.

It's not as if RG has a flawless record, it needs fixing. (i'm beginning to think 1.04 is vapourware, but please prove me wrong).

Well, if you paid for Norton, look at it as a lesson in life and move on. Next time you come to this decision, be advised there are anti virus programs, that are damn good at detecting and cleaning for free. That don't cause network headaches, and compatibility issues.
You honestly think Renguard is the cause of his problem? Maybe you are just pointing out the fact that Renguard is not perfect.
