this is the stupidest thing i have ever seen...
"should we ban ***** for talking to much?"
"should we ban ***** for taking up too much space?"

Do you not remember the old forums? We couldn't get rid of people we didn't want around. I told everyone I would run these forums not so much a dictatorship as a democracy. Several people asked for him to be banned, so I used the poll to see where opinions truly lie. The poll for CaptKurt was the same. But, I didn't have to ban him either, because I think it helped him see how his peers here (as it were) felt about his antics and he's stepped off quite a bit. I hope to see a positive change in TheGunRun as well.
Wish I knew what I'd done to deserve such hateful treatment from you, though. Would've saved the typing to say "your forums suck, mine are better!"

do i like these forums, not really, all i ever see is retard fests and im better than you threads.
Did i at all promote my forum over yours? no, all i said was if you needed to contact me, go there.
Im not here to jerk anyone off, im here to play and mod the game, i don't give a shit about post counts, and i don't give a shit when people disagree with me, big deal, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and they all stink...
simply put, i was just saying that i don't see any need for me to be here on these forums if all that seems to be happening is a bunch of empty promises from a bunch of people who have no clue what they are doing, then PM, IM, something me to walk and DO over half the work for them.
I have always offered my knowledge to anyone who is willing to ask and pay attention to how to do it. I have never offered to whipe your asses through an entire mod, or be your "mysterious" extra person on your mod team.
Crimmy, it isn't personal, it is these posts, they don't really have alot of content, and they don't really feed my brain enough to keep my attention for longer than 2 posts.

If you have issues with spammers and rookies don't take it out on someone who actively supports you by plugging your work every chance she gets.
Be useful and get n00bstories back online, or release something that the entire community can use, not just the elite with massive computers,and 10 years of modding experience.
Your forums are dull, dead, and generally uninteresting unless you are a modder. Most of the people here, are not. Let them have thier fun, and keep your asshole to yourself. Crimson has enough problems with Lithium, Ty, and the other script kiddies.

Disagreed. This guy has released so many useful scripts, and always helps me out when I'm having a problem setting them up. Modding is what keeps me with Renegade, just trying new things, getting laughs, so of course his forums are awesome. If you started to mod, you could go there and learn OR use Ren Help (which by the way was created by Dante and friends).

Kirby, I appreciate your sentiment, but I do not agree with what you say about Dante. I still recognize his accomplishments and contributions to the communiity.
What I do not recognize or appreciate is this sudden attack on my work. Like you said, I have enough issues to deal with, without my so-called friends jumping on my shit for no reason.

You know what? I posted that in anger, reread it 1 minute later and decided that DANTE was referring to someone asking him to come here and look at this. I then realized he was going off on the idiots who are PMing him every three seconds to look at gay posts, not Crimson or the forum members who are fairly decent. I then revised my post to the confused guy.
I am not sure how, in that 1 minute, you were there and able to quote me, but I did not intend for that to stay on the boards. It isn't valid due to the fact that I had a wrong impression of what he was flaming.
Regardless, I still don't think senior members of the community going off on each other publicly is a smart idea. For being so intelligent in other areas, that was a dumbass thing to do.

Let's get this straight. You want mods, you have to be nice. The modding tools are not powered by massive computers, modding experiance, or any of that sort (MAYBE some modding exp). They are powered by CREATIVITY. You guys keep flaming like this, and as seen in some topics like w3d test instead of trying to take it somewhere else, the modders reading this stuff are going to take a dip in motivation. They take a dip in motivation, they aren't going to be able to make these creative ideas to get things working cause they're going to start questioning the point of doing it. See where I'm going at?
I know I probally sound incredibly stupid saying this, esspically with the creativity part. You guys have to ignore the fact that there is no source code and you will have to work togather. If you guys get happier, the begainer modders will be happier and more willing to try. If you guys help eachother out or give opinions and suggestions without the insults more people will want to follow them.
Trust me, Level Edit can do 90% of what you can do with the source code in half the time. Best part is, you dont need to buy C++ or anything to do it. You dl a free editor, and you get to work. Thus, more people can mod! You guys just have to treat them nicely.
Ok so maybe that's a bit off topic so I'll just cut it down to this:

You know what? I know Dante has his hands in a lot of stuff. I also know that he has contributed A LOT of things.
But the rest of you modders who start, promise, and then never complete anything need to lay off the "Be nice to me, or you won't get your mod." B.S..
I have yet to see any credible mod in mass use, except ACK's maps and blazeregulator.
By anyone.
You are a modder by choice, and have the time to dedicate to these endevours. I cannot, and will not make the time to do this. I am a father and choose to devote my time to my kids, not Modding.
If you as a modder make a promise to release something, you need to fullfill the promise, or lose credibility. So far the only credible teams out there are the ones who developed REOL, and RedAlert total conversion.
Everything else is half finished, never released, joke.
While the rest of you are patting yourselves on the back for mods Dante is writing FOR you, the rest of us have given up waiting for anything to come from this pathetic mod community.
It's no wonder Dante had to create the Mod exchange. No one else was going to do it. Satnd on your own, and stop letting him carry this community's only hope for life after Westwood.

That wasn't nessecarly directed at you, sorry if it sounded like it. It was just building up and up and it's been getting dang annoying when my conversations on mod ideas now become this nearly everytime:
Me: I think xxx idea would work quite well.
Someone Else: Yea but it's not possible.
Me: What do you mean it's not possible? It's easier then drawing a stick figure!
Someone Else: Whatever. It's still not possible.
Me: You see it in-game everytime you play MP in Ren......
Another Someone Else: That's possible?!?!

5 seconds later I've got it running and no one cares....
I'm not saying that you guys have to treat us/them like gods. I'm just saying ease down on the topic invasions and flames, ie, be polite. Modders aren't likely going to not give you a mod just because you're flaming, it just might take longer as I know some people would take a few motivational dips if they see a few people do one little thing wrong and get pounced on by flames.
I'm not saying you guys are cruel or that something like "I'm not going to release my mod because you guys are jerks!", I'm just saying it might make some motivational dips with lots of people thinking so many things are impossible and all.
Anyhow, it's just my mindless rambeling that I need to get out in order to feel better (and boy has it helped), lol. I know to the rest of ya it seems like nonsense but it's coming from my point of view, which is, naturally, alien to everyone else (I guess that's what makes us unique).

Ok, i don't care a whole lot if you're polite to me or not, i'm just asking you to be that to other modders. You don't have to.
Now, there is only one thing that is annoying me, just this one thing, 50% or more of the community that, when sees a new idea, thinks it's impossible. All I ask is that stop because about the only thing you can't do is edit the GUI........which actually you can to a small degree, but smaller then what most of us would like (but it's not like we really need new GUIs).
Swear at me alll you want. I'm just asking ease on the flames so people to don't take motivational dips. I understand, and would be to, upset if they promise something and then don't deliver it. That you can be upset about (although not like I can stop you). I'm just asking ease on the flames. It gives motivitional dips. Kinda like what you're saying in that cinematic post, ACK, about RenAlert. That's kinda like what's caused, you start wondering what the point of continuing is because if you make a tiny mistake, you're pounced on till you're nothing but ashes.
Now if I sat here bragging "Oooh!! D000ds!!!! I g0t this c00000l thing!!!!! It'll be ouutt in a month!!! It's 10 bases on oooneeee maap!" and then a month later I said I couldn't do it, yea I'd say flame me like heck. Which is why I mainly just say i am going to make a mod and give it out but i'm not going to give all the specific details just incase. That's why it looks like I'm not doing lots, cause I'm not spreading it out to the world incase I slip up or hype up everyone too much.
Anyhow, not like I can govern you guys, but flaming does get old after a while right?
