[Suggestion] Auto-command entry [message #194901] |

Something I would like to see is that RenGuard/launcher would automatically initiate "client_physics_optimization 1" client command when Renegade has launched. It gets a little tiring sometimes to have to enter it (regardless of the shortcut of just pressing "`c" and enter). Maybe a feature like this could be added?
Possibly adding -client_physics_optimization 1 or +client_physics_optimization 1 to the shortcut launcher might be a way to accomplish it?

It's very simple and you'd notice there difference sooner or later. From one of the things I find extremely noticable (especially when sniping) is that it cuts out everything you don't see, and only renders/handles network packets of what you do see. It will hide all the unseen faces and polygons from your view, and completely disclude them.
Although, I'm not sure if it does any more than that - you'd have to ask someone who has better knowledge than I. I will note that this command will only make latency WORSE for certain internet connections. How? Well I don't know but I did two tests. I tested this on dialup and tested it at my cousin's house on their 3mbit Cable; on my dialup I would highly recommend its use; on 3mbit Cable I would not recommend it as it increases latency a little bit (not too much). I won't say though, that your latency will increase on every cable connection, so it really has a matter of experimenting and comparing. If your latency is higher, turn it off. If lower and you enjoy/prefer it, keep it on.
