I'm still getting the same error as before. So I would find it VERY useful.

I want a stand_alone cp2 because I have all Renegade related things already installed on my pc under a folder I call "RenegadeUpToStandards". If for some reason I have to reinstall renegade I always have what I need to fix it up withought downloading.
So far I have every official patch, Core Patch, Version of Renguard, alot of skins, mappacks, mods, scripts, 3rd party programs. So many things. My favorite folder on my PC. Subfolders keeping it organized. Why am I saying this? To give others the same idea Big Ups

Well thats my dumb reason Big Grin

I say RenGuard should be a requirement to be able to download it.

I archive all my files, patches etc, so when I redo my OS occasionaly I don't have to wait for autoupdate downloads. It's already on my archive drive and speeds up installations. Smile

Because, I can't leave shit alone. I don't want to download it every time I reinstall Windows. If it works good, I may just slip stream it into my install disk.

I will investgate the fesability of building a stand-alone Client Core Patch 2 Specifically, it will probobly be the case that you download patchall.zip or cp2.zip same as the CP2 downloader downloads then you download another program/zip file that I would write which then applies said patch. (such a program is required for the idea I have to integrate core patch downloading into RenGuard in any case)
So it wont be a single exe like for Core Patch 1 (the single exe has caused a number of problems) but basicly you will download patchall.zip or cp2.zip then download cpinstall.zip and unzip both into a folder and run the program in cpinstall.zip which will install it. (also, having one patch file for stand-alone use as well as RenGuard downloading makes life much easier for ME when it comes to handling the patches)

For people without RenGuard, there will be an extra step to take to do with the no-cd crack exe supplied with Core Patch 2 (which is the same exe that comes with The First Decade)
I will see about getting this exe written as soon as I can (assuming that this will work for all the people here who want a stand-alone version)

I also store my Renegade related files somewhere. CP2 would be a good addition, though I can install the RC1 and just patch the exe with First Decade's exe.

So I answered no Razz

I have another reason. I'm going on 25 min and the CP2 install isn't even half way though. It is taking WAY to long this way. Just give me a .exe I can install and be done with it please.

Along with the 'I like to archive large game updates' reason, I have a history of problems with specially written automatic updaters and CP2+RenGuard combo was no exception. =]

Plus it's just rude to expect people to chew up bandwidth because that's what you would prefer. =]

I should have a non-renguard download-and-run CP2 installer out this weekend at the latest.
