Verify your firewall settings. Also, verify that you aren't getting an anti-virus popup in the background asking you if it should let Renegade connect to the internet.

Scan for adware/spyware, defrag, reboot.

Then when you want to play, make sure that if you have any P2P applications running, close them.

I have the same problem still havent been able to figure it out. Are u on a router? IF so there might be a port number in which to switch the port to in order for u not to get disconnected off servers. If anyone knows which port number i have to switch it to since i am on a router please let me know. Thank You

I am behind a router and have no issues at all. (I have not had to open ports to play Renegade)

I set my software firewall to allow Renegade and it connects and plays fine. I doubt it is a port issue.

Did you check for virusses and spyware (www.spybot.info and www.microsoft.com -> beta anti-spyware)? If many things start going wrong, that's often the problem...

If it started going wrong after you moved then perhaps your internet connection from your new location is not very strong, and renegade could be cutting out when the connection fails...

What servers are you playing on that your losing connection, alot of servers have been getting hit lately, mine included. So that might be what is happening to you as well.

I've been getting this issue all the time.

This has happened ever since 1.0.37 patch for me. I've tried on SP1 and SP2 for xp, with and without firewall enabled, with different AV programs installed (at different times, not at the same time)..

I've even moved from Florida to Virginia (though not for this reason), so I don't think it's an ISP problem.

I've reinstalled Windows several times since the first time I got the issue (I reinstall every 6 mos or so) and it ALWAYS happens.

Every 10-15 mins kicks me out.

If someone has some clue I'd appreciate it, because it really makes the game like 100% less fun than when you can finish one whole game. Wink

Oh, and I have cable inet, so it's not my connection *speed*.

Ok, there is a problem here, there has to be.

Just in the first 9 pages of this forum:

http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=18699 6&rid=20601#msg_186996
http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=18700 0&rid=20601#msg_187000

http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=14512&a mp;start=0&rid=20601

And that's just the topics that had titles I could easily discern were related to this problem.

Does ANYONE know whey ALL of these people (including myself) regularly get kicked out of games?

For me, happens about every 10 mins - 15 mins. I saw one guy said he timed it - was 11 Mins 30 seconds on the dot. That seems a pretty odd number....does that trigger anything special to the developers or anything? It happens to me with and without renguard, so I don't think Renguard is the issue, and it happens with and without CP1, so I don't think that's the issue.

I honestly think it's something with 1.0.37 that is just finding an incompatibility with all of our pc's. We have to find some sort of common demoninator.

I have Windows XP
P4 1.8 Ghz
512 MB Ram
80 GB Hd with over 60 GB free, Swap set to a separate partition
Toshiba Cable Modem - 3MB down/364 KB up connection (though has happened with any connection I've ever used since 1.0.37 has came out years ago)
GeForce MX 400 with most up to date drivers

I am (was) a computer tech, so I'm comfortable working with anything in and out of the case, so if there are suggestions that would otherwise normally stop the faint of heart feel free to make them. I'm fine making the judgement on whether it's a stupid idea or not.

I've reinstalled Win at least 3 times since the first time this has happened, and I just reinstalled 2 weeks ago, so I have a clean PC right now. I have SP2, all Windows patches.

Avast Antivirus, fully up to date.
I have Windows firewall enabled
Linksys BEFSR41 router

I have all ports setup for port forwarding both in my Linksys router and the Windows Firewall....
