i downloaded some mods (i.e skin mods) but cant find them in the game how do i use them

Put them in your Data folder (C:\Westwood\Renegade\Data\ by default)

PS: W3D skins are evil, they harm your Renegade!

There is no such thing as a W3D skin/Texture. The W3D files are either models or animations with textures applied to them, which Renguard does not let you use.
