Hi, I just got Counterstrike for the PC. When I tried to install it it said "This game only works with Windows 95" (or something like that) so I switch it to WIndows 95 compatibility mode. Still won't work (it says something like "Cannot read files please run SETUP.EXE from CD" that what I did and still nothing). So does anyone have any idea on how to get this game to work? Please help!

I'll try that.

Edit: You can't change the dll's compatibility.

Wow. You really are stupid.

He's not talking about Counter Strike 1.6 (The one you play on Steam.) He's talking about the C&C Red Alert expansion "Counter-Strike".

Unusual_Rex: Have you tried the Windows XP patch made by Westwood? It's for C&C Gold, but it may be worth a shot. ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/ccgold/CCGOLDXPPATCH.ZIP

Edit: rm5248 the FAQ you post is great Smile just one thing... it says you need a file autoexec.nt I have 2 one in repair (autoexec.nt) and one in system32 (AUTOEXEC.NT) are these 2 different files?
