Our site is now located on a n00bstories server. Should be faster, safer, and with less flashy ads at the top of each page, and more hosting for whatever we release so you'll always have a download link that works.

Let me know if you run into any trouble, beyond simple broken links I didn't fix yet.

Your website sucks on Firefox. You might want to fix that so it can be viewed the same on all browsers.

I did some things to make it more Firefox friendly. Opera and IE and NetSuck worked fine before, now FireFox shouldn't have as many layout issues trying to understand that 0 means 0 and silly things like that.

Firefox sucks... Be happy I'm not Chronojam since I would never fix it to work with that POS browser.

Aren't you the one trying to convince Reborn not to alienate their fans?

That has nothing to do with alienating any fans. Firefox displayed everything but had trouble with a single part of the forum.

Opera can't render the site correctly either. The text on the main page spills over, past the red area.

You'd probably have more success making a multipe-browser website if it was standards compliant. Things like the DOCTYPE help browsers know how to render a page correctly.

(Your page has 232 validation errors)
http://validator.w3.org/

Actually, it's IE thats behind the rest.

Most of the errors are the result of earlier errors confusing the validator. I'm sorry for not closing every tag I open when it's not needed and using Javascript in a few places if it offends you and makes your browser cry to itself.

Differences between how browsers deal with numbers is a little irritating, I'll fix the overflow maybe tonight after I eat something. Like, maybe in eight hours.

It doesn't offend me, I just don't bother with sites that don't display correctly.

It's things like having no doctype and invalid declarations that is probably making your site display incorrectly. If you don't want to fix it thats your business, I just thought you might like a bit of advice....

I started coding html when I was 11 and I could have done a better job even then.

To make this post a little constructive I'll say this. Get over your ego and follow some standards.

Hurrr I started when I was nine before Fagifox came along to cry about borders =B Come on, when you were 11, was CSS and PHP and MySQL even around? Then again I don't know how old you are. You could believeably still be 12.

Seriously though, saying "I started at 11 and could have done better" sounds a lot like an inflated ego to me, or maybe you just take things too seriously.

Look familiar? That's what your sig looks like. Don't you know the FUDcode standards? I started forums when I was 11 and could have done better! Big Ups

Jeez, it was just a suggestion. Please don't take it as a personal attack on your coding because it's a reasonable mistake.

I'd say that the following behind Firefox would be pretty...fanatic. Needless to say, if I were a webmaster, I would not berate people for their choice of browser.

IE SP2 is much better than Firefox can ever hope to be, which is why I'd rather people use that (or Avant if you absolutely must have "tabs") for viewing websites unless you're going to use Opera instead. At least IE SP2, Avant, and Opera aren't as bug riddled and full of exploits like Firefox is.

That would be the code used on the old boards. I actually do decent coding so I'm busy with clients who like my work... I'm lucky to get enough time to visit this site once a day.

BTW, if your coding followed any standards you wouldn't have to worry about firefox not being complient. You don't care about your users that use a different internet browser. Thats sad...

Except it's even worse.

Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Highly critical

Currently, 21 out of 91 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database.

Firefox

Mozilla Firefox 1.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Less critical

Currently, 3 out of 26 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database.

Opera

Opera 8.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Not critical

Currently, 1 out of 13 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database.

Based on that, IE is totally riddled with holes, with FF comeing in second and Opera 3rd.

*yawn* Not another shift to a browser war thread. Keep the thread about improving/fixing up the APB website or I'll lock it.

*cough* Or maybe not.

And since when was Firefox more exploit-ridden than IE? The more popular a browser is, the more problems that are bound to be found. Thing is, seems like the team behind Firefox is much more prompt in addressing problems than M$.
