Whatever he did after his conviction is irrelevant- he passed the point of no return when he killed other human beings. He got the punishment prescribed to his crimes under US law, and that's the end of that. Being sorry for what you've done doesn't change the fact that you've done it and that it was wrong, nor does it excuse you from the punishment.

The point of prision is punishment, not rehabilitaion. He got what he deserved. Maybe he will be a marter for the books he wrote. I am sorry he died but he did the things he did of free will and now he has payed for it. As for the death penalty, i think they need more evedance for a death sentance but what ever.

Why should we give a damn about how other countries think about the death penalty? That's as absurd as saying the rulings of high foreign courts should influence U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
Besides, all those other countries want a weaker United States.

I find it pretty amusing that this is EXACTLY the stereotype of American we have in mind here in Europe.
The thing that makes me doubt if this was the right decision is the time it took: 25 years!

Im tired of Europe thinking America is its bitch. We have our own damn free will, we don't need to ask you if its ok to do something. America has a large double standard that it must live up to and we are getting sick of it. If we do nothing we are heartless monsters, if we act we are the "evil empire". Maybe we should have let Germany roll over France and Russia and North Africa. Least then we would get 1 message instead of like 8.

It just sounds to me like some people are whores, opening their legs to let the media stick their big cock of lies in.
They show pictures of this older man and we're all supposed to shit ourselves "omg don't kill this man!". But show us a picture of a redneck-looking fella whose picture looks angry and tell us he killed babies, and we're all more than happy to see him die.

Exactly. Just because Stalin didnt put a gun to the head of his victems, doeasnt make him not responsible for thier deaths. Think of the hundreds (thousands even) that have been murdered for the last 20 years because of this gang. He may have not pulled the trigger, but hes part a reason that their dead. I have absolutely no sympathy for gang leaders. They ruin the lives of so many people, that even death by injection is still not justice enough.

And the fact that you think we even care about what you do within your frontiers makes me laugh. You got death penalty? Nice for you. I'd like us to have it too for some bastards around here.
The one thing I do not agree on is the US wanting to put its big, long nose into the world policy when it could make profit of it but running off its responsabilities when it would cost something (yes, let's take Kyoto as exemple).

I wish it wouldn't have taken them 25 years to do it. Why spend all that money to keep him locked up that long? Just kill him and be done with it. Either way the world is now one step closer to being a better place!
