Recently installed renegade again had a few games today not played properly maybe once or twice in the past 2 years... damn i missed this game

i'm also suprised there are still so many idiots out there who dont know how to fly etc..
one thing i did not miss was the extreme lag and drag and warping Sad

but oh well
its also nice to instantly log into WOL. or should i call it XWIS now Razz

and not wait 5 minutes after a few timeouts

on Xwis is does not have a european server does it?
when i select european it just shows the same servers as before :S and with the pings all messed up how are we supposed to find euro servers? Razz

Yeah it's all one, which I personnaly think is a good thing.
So both public servers get on same way.
Anyways for the ping it wouldn'r really matter seeing that you connect to the game server. same host/bandwith ecta.

Recently I was always lagging and warping unless I manually set my sbbo higher (sbbo 150000). Then I checked and turns out that Renegade had my connection set as 56K, I changed that and lag went away Smile

im confused? how does ping not matter?
if i cannot see the real server pings i might end up on some far western us server that pings at 300+ and lags like a bitch.

Blazer, i have tried that sbbo thing once before but i did not seem to notice any difference and no matter what renegade detects my connection at it does not seem to make a difference. the game has always lagged and warped for me.

How do you figure what sbbo you should enter. I think I used to enter 300000 but I was never sure if it was ok or not. My Downstream is a fairly consistent 2970kbps, thats where I came up with 300000.

The European WOL server also had lots of european based servers on it as those are much cheaper (and many european companies just seem to always mess up running Renegade servers). So it doesn't matter much.

Also, USA-based servers give you ping around 200 but don't lag necessarely. A stable 200 ping is better than a ping going from 60 to 190 all the time. Stability is more important.

Mission8, You wouldnt need to make your sbbo that high since renegade doesnt go that high unless its like 126player server when its full...

The normal sbbo is like 150000 - 200000 which is 150KB/200KB which is about right.
