Well i had install renegade like 3 times.. i dont know why its happening but it pissed me off.. made me spend like an hour installing renegade..
try that only thing i can suggest or jsut play on WOL

Its totally gone 
And when I get enough time, I'll unistall it, then re-install it, but its more than this problem, so far the only thing we have gotten from this XWIS transfer was REALLY lagy servers (ping>999), and many people getting this problem, I TOATTALLY agree with alot of other renegaders, that WOL was a better choice

With the problem about the pings at like 995-999 is just a bug, once you join the server your ping will be normal.
