This guy spent 11 years inventing colored bubbles. At first this seems like a "colored bubbles...so what?", sort of thing, but then I realized that yeah, I have never seen a colored bubble before. Next you would think that a colored bubble should be easy to make, but definitely NOT. Read the story and be amazed.

I can't wait to see solid black bubbles.

Whoa.

Best invention ever. And the article is right, this could have so many practical uses.

I wonder if the reaction is reversable - ie, you could "reopen" the box, because then it would have a lot of uses.

My god that's cool. I'd be SO pissed though, if I forgot the "super ball" bubbles like he did.

He was told it was impossible and he didn't give up until he accomplished it. Just think of how many things we have today that we take for granted, that would never have come to be if the inventor gave up upon having the slightest difficulty.

You say that guy needs a hobby? Just think of it this way... These things will make that man a multi-millionaire.

I want his hobby.

Alot of people don't respect these kinds of inventions because they do not realise the amount of technology involved in the project. And as one of you said, think of all the things we have now just because the inventors did not give up. Saying things like he needs a hobby...pfff/ You must not be able to see that he obviously has one...creating colored bubbles. Personally, that invention has to be the most amazing thing I have seen in a great long while. I respect the fact that he did not give up on his "dream" par say.

I give him a big thumbs up, and besides, think of all the lil' kiddies he made happy. Satisfied

Colored bubbles, simply amazing.

Dude, I just thought of a way to use them for military uses. Only problem is, I just forgot it. It was replaced for a cheap way to increase your accuracy. Blow bubbles and then shoot them. Because they're colored, you can see when they pop, so you can see how well you're shooting. Plus they move, so there's that, too.

That is a good idea...clear bubbles would be good to practice shooting at hard to see targets.

I bet there are lots of uses that have or have not yet been thought of that one could do with bright ink that dissappears. Maybe it could be used for ATM receipts or other messages you would want to "self destruct". Or what about clothes that change color when you wash them, or house paint that changes color depending on the temperature, etc Smile

Problem with that, Blazer, is that as far as I understand it the dye only goes one way. When the bubble pops the dye just becomes part of the surface mix and all that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next step in this is that he tries to find a way to make it work on demand - you know, so with the right stuff you could make the dyes go away and come back and that, but I imagine it might take another 11 years Wink

I think I read that one of the next goals is something like that; being able to go back and forth.

Must get orange and teal bubbles for the wedding.
