Xerevix wrote on Wed, 26 October 2005 00:25 | I would add one more step though. Norton Antivirus has an "Auto Protect" feature. You must put the SVKP file under the exclusions list for this feature as well, or when you start renguard again, the auto protect will kick in, and you'll get that same message.

Aha! That must be why RenGuard only works once for me after following my instructions (and then need to do my instructions again to work once more). Cool. Now I can use 1.03 again! Yayayayaya!!!
Edit:
If you are still having trouble with SVKP, please follow the instructions at the link below!
http://www.renegadewiki.com/index.php?title=RenGuard_SVKP_Is sue#Alternate_solution
Would someone mind letting me know if a reboot is necessary at all? It may be just that I was missing that "Auto-Protect" exclusions list...

There is no way to run RenGuard 1.03 without SVKP. If you don't like it, don't run RenGuard.
Next version of RenGuard will probably use another protection.

No one from BHS is telling you to uninstall your anti-virus. We are just asking you to tell Norton to ignore SVKP.sys because it's falsely detecting it as a virus. RenGuard has been through the hands of over 15,000 people and until this Norton update, no one has ever found one bit of suspect activity. Furthermore we invite anyone to find any sort of hacktool/rootkit code in SVKP.SYS.
I'm the bawss.

I imagine they'd be similar. The only thing I can say is try. If it works, then say so. If it doesn't work, then try fiddling with some things. In either case, let us know what you did (especially if you did anything different).
