Look what rengaurd has done to my computer!!! I uninstalled it because it wouldnt let me log on ("Renegade could not be found") and now when i try to play on the gamespy server, it says " There was an error that prevented you from logging on make sure itsh the correct file path" or whatever, its a load of crap, rengaurd totaled it, and i also lost my first cd and serial, i can NO longer play renegade at ALL.
Is rengaurd ACTUALLY protecting me? Is it actually saving me from hackers? I doubt it, after it ravaged my folder like that.
Also someone i know decompiled it a while back, it showed that It scans things it doesn't need, it steals personal information (serials,...) and so on.
And sometimes it even skips code...
So how is it so safe if it does this? (Im sure my topic will be deleted/closed for exposing this..)

if you had problems before you installed renguard then you should have fixed them BEFORE installing renguard....
and whats that d4t4 folder all about? Other than that the screenshot seems to be exactly what SHOULD be in the renegade folder, don't know why your whining about it....

when i uninstalled it, renegade's main launcher was a font file!
there were no previous problems, i decided to install it to use commands

As for RG knowing your serial, it HAS to know your serial (game serials are a form of GUID) so it can a) identify you (even if you use GSA) and b) it's how people are banned from RG...

It just said " rengaurd "
"Could not find renegade" so of course im gonna look for some kind of fix..
and though it feels kinda like an attack on regaurd, waay back, about a year ago when i used to play on the westwood servers i used to hate hackers, and enthusiastically waited for rengaurds release, im hoping for a fix from a staff of the rg client, not to fight about its authenticity.

Whether or not you tried to "fix" your game, you should of seen that the exe was an attempt to bypass renguard. It's your own fault.

If your renegade dir is not under c:\ it will have problems. Also you need to log into WOL once without rg after you install it.
It's no ones fault but your own that you lost the CD. Spend the $5 and get a new one, then install it properly..

You are incorrect, sir! My game and RenGuard run perfectly fine, but it's all installed un "D:\Westwood\Renegade\". Though I will admit that when I somehow managed to uninstall Westwood Online/Westwood Internet Components" and reinstalled it, that somehow destroyed Core Patch 1. . . And my resolution settings. Bizarro, but not entirely unfixable.
