Steve Vai taught Kirk Hammet (metallica) to paly guitar. He's also an insane solo player.

If I remember correctly, Satriani taught vai to play guitar.

The genre they play, I suppose, is an aquired taste as it's basically an instrumental song with no lyrics, just 3 minute solos.

Try downloading for the love of god by steve vai and surfing with the alien by satriani.

Well its really like 1989 but FF7 came out and i have that OST. I hate rap, i hate rock where it sounds like the guy is having a seizure on the floor and some guy put a mic next to him.

I noticed in alot of cases that it really reflects the person's opposite. For instance i can call my mom bitch, and we both laugh. But i cant tell Brandy that i love her. So i listen to 80's music and such, all about love and relationships. Whilst most of you listen to rap and rock because you cant freely express your anger.

Its not true in every case, but it is true more than not. Heavily true that is.

I don't see how this is true. I mean, I can agree to a certain extent with like death metal and other bullshit rock genres like that, but for the most part I don't see rock as being an outlet for most people to vent their anger.

I believe he was licensed and commissioned to do the entire Final Fantasy Fanchise. It's pretty amazing with that man can do with a VST and a synthesizer.

Someone worth mentioning of course is Jeremy Robson of Kingston Ontario. Uematsu's works are amazing templates to remixers like him. The general MIDI Uematsu has been limited to for production reasons (I can only assume) doesn't give justice to the possibilities that can be generated. Jeremy Robson is one of the best I can think of who can take something as memoriable as the "Fifth Tier" of the Dancing Mad symphonic and turn out something one cannot discern from genuine orchestration.

Don't put classic rock off as something "to listen to". Make it something that you DO listen to. Might I suggest Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, Yes, Rush, Supertramp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Pink Floyd. There are obviously plenty others, but those are the top of my list.

I love Jazz, ever since I had to listen to it because I take Jazz in my Highschool, it grew on me and it's pretty realaxing to listen too.

[Edit] I also listen to Story of the Year, Sum 41, Linkin Park, Black Eyed peas, Hedley and Jazz occasionally when I get tired of listening to the same old stuff over and over.
