The first time (and all subsequent times) i tried running Rengaurd (v. 1.03) failed, because: --"Buffer overrun detected! Program: D:\Games\Renegade\Game.exe A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the game's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated."-- No, i fixed my firewall already. Yes, i do have the latest version of Renegade. Yes, i tried Un- and Re- installing rengaurd 3 times.
If you have any ideas (and know what you're talking about) they would be appreciated!

Lots of possiblilities.
Questions and Possible Solutions:
1. Is issomething like the following (does the error contain).
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
2. Is your computer name more than 31 characters.
3. Do you have the latest .net framework and c++ runtime software from microsoft?
4. Press CAD (ctrl+alt+del), close any programs in the processes list that you do not think that you require.
Any chance of an error log?

Answers to your questions:
1. Yes, the error title is Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
2.No, my computer name is less than 31 characters.
3.I don't believe I do have the latest .net framework and C++ runtime software.
4.Most of the programs in the processes list I do require. I am currently unwilling to start ending processes unless that IS the problem.
5.I doubt it, it never prompts me with an "Send Error report" screen, when you click "ok", rengaurd closes.
In the last few days, i've just been starting rengaurd about 10 times, until the error does not occur. it seems to me that every time i shutdown and reboot the computer, the more times it takes to work. Also, after the first restart, it starts randomly freezing (1/10 times). I've been un- and re- installing rengaurd to solve this. About a week ago, it started not running Renegade OR Rengaurd. i had to reinstall the game. here are the general system specs if you need them:
Microsoft Windows 2K, Service pack 4. Intel Celleron CPU 2 GHz. 523 meg of RAM. ATI Raedon 9600 video card.
Note: I already searched and looked at the other buffer overrun posts. I tried their solutions and they don't work.
